I don’t know why but it really irks me when people call it the iPod Touch the iTouch. That’s not what the product is called! I just read an article on Gizmodo that referred to the iPod Touch as the iTouch and it irked me enough to blog about it. I’m usually pretty irked if I blog about something. Customers at work also constantly refer to it as the iTouch but I ignore it because I have to be courteous to the customer but the name, “iTouch,” sounds really…inappropriate. I hope “iTouch” doesn’t become the shortened, slang version of iPod Touch or I’m going to go crazy.

I hate when people call it the itouch; Nobody calls it the iNano, do they?
I agree, everyone I know calls the iPod touch “the iTouch”. Like Will said, I don’t call my iPod an iClassic…
This is one of my biggest pet peeves!
I’m at work right now and a girl just asked for an “iTouch.” *sigh* I give up.
They can't call it an iTouch! That name's already been taken by a competitor (read: ripoff artist), hence why SO many people get pissy when people call the iPod Touch the "iTouch", because iTouch is a completely different product!

I agree.
"iTouch" is a type of SD card used to modify the Nintendo DSi; "iPod touch" is an Apple-brand MP3/MP4 player.
Note: I did not begin "touch" with a capital because neither does Apple.
interesting article. I would love to follow you on twitter.
Also, you don't call the Macbook Air the mAir or the Mac Pro the mPro. And for all the people that think this is a stupid topic, SOME PEOPLE JUST CAN'T STAND IT WHEN PEOPLE CALL IT THAT!!! Some people just can't stand incorrect names or grammar! It's just the way they are, and just the way I am!!!
DEAL WITH IT!!!
