LaCie itsaKey

We just got the LaCie itsaKeys in at work the other day and I just had to buy one. There’s just something cool about carrying a flash drive with me at all time. I already loaded it up with Portable Apps so that I can have my applications with me at all times. I’ve had the itsaKey for the last two days and it seems to be holding up alright though there are a few scratches. With the way I treat my keys, I’ll be surprised if the logo can stay on the flash drive for more than a month. We’ll see when the time comes.

Being the geek that I am, I also bench marked the flash drive against my SanDisk Cruzer and my PNY flash drive and the LaCie made it out on top though not by much. The loser was the PNY drive with a pitifully slow read speed.

The best part? It only costs $23.95 for an 8GB model.

  1. Reading these kind of posts reminds me of just how technology truly is an integral part of our lives in this day and age, and I am fairly certain that we have passed the point of no return in our relationship with technology.

I don't mean this in a bad way, of course! Ethical concerns aside… I just hope that as the price of memory falls, the possibility of uploading our memories onto a digital medium becomes a true reality. It's one of the things I really wish I could encounter in my lifetime.
